![]() Previously I had the NZXT Kraken x52 installed and had the same issues, but I swapped it out thinking it might have been a fault with the cooler, but the issue still happens with my new air cooler. I calibrated the fans in the BIOS with Q-fan control, set it to PWM and when idle it runs between 300-400 rpm but every so often it will shoot up to 1500-2000 with no apparent reason. Click the PWM Mode options and make sure they’re all set to MANUAL using the dropdown at the bottom of the window. Click the Chip dropdown and choose your motherboard chipset from the list. Click the Configure button and head to the Advanced tab. For example, I left my PC on overnight, at around 6am, it revved up loud enough to wake me up, then stopped almost instantly. Let’s start playing with some fan controls. ![]() I've checked temps and CPU usage when this happens but nothing changes, the fan just seems to speed up for no reason. Every now and then, even when completely idle, the fan will rev up to full speed for literally 1 second and then slow down again. My CPU cooler is connected to the 4 pin CPU_FAN header, my chassis fans are connected to the CHA_FAN headersįor some reason my CPU fan is running rather eratically. I built a new gaming PC in July, specs are as follows: ![]()
